Yeah, no one would ever expect a Camry to do that

Cool, I stumbled across on google... I clicked the link because I saw Nismofob's name, and voila, I'm in here
![]() Hey trd_4runner, people often comment about the front bumper, so I am not surprised at all Most of the guys know I always keep my my cars clean looking, and always about function over form. Well, the bumper is in fact a full racing piece used in the Australian Touring Camry a many years ago. RMM started to use them on their race car as well and eventually it became available for purchase. It is fully wind tunnel tested, and known to reduce front aero drag down to 0.28 c/d. The front gills and ducts are there to channel all the air through the radiator (FMIC in my case), and the side gills help pull the heat away. There is also added front downforce because the first day I installed the bumper, I noticed my steering wheel felt noticeable heavier above 70 mph. Here are a few pics of the bumper: ![]() ![]() Here's a pic of my car: ![]() Here's a pic of the engine: ![]() Last edited by Tony the Tiger; June 29th, 2006 at 10:14 PM.. |

That drag coefficient is hot. I've yet to see a street car with lower. Lowest I've seen is Corvette C5 at .29 and 7th Gen Accord at .29. Those look like a set of a certain brand lightweight wheels as well. I give you super props for that car.

oh don't get me wrong Tony the Tiger. the bumper isn't bad looking. it's just not consider as a sleeper to me. but i definitely digg that bumper with a FULL kit around it just for an agressive look rather than a sleeper.

The Camry, stock, is actually 0.30-0.31 c/d... I've searched all over for the numbers on the net, and digging back my old Road & Track, Car & Driver and Motertrend magazines to cnmfirm that. When the Touring Car series was popular, they had websites showcasing the specs of the cars, and the Camry seen on the pic above had lots of specs, from ride height, to coefficient of drag, spring rates (for that particular event), engine code, car weight, etc... |

If they could see my front bumper, well...then they deserve to know the Camry is modified anyways...hahaha It means they could get ahead of me, and props to the guy who manages to do that And of course, I am trying to get the look similiar to the race cars... so the look I've kept is more of an "inside Camry" thing, because there are already a few members on the Toyota board are going with the same look (front lip, no sides, etc...) It makes the car look a lot more sleek at most angles. |

I am mostly into domestic cars, but after seeing the video of the Camry vs. The C4 Corvette I had to show my appreciation for a fine piece of automotive work. I have always like sleepers. I live in Houston and the coolest sleepers I have seen was when this late 90's Olds Cutlass Ciera looked stock but apparently had a turbo on it and wooped a Porsche CarreraS. Another sleeper that wowed me was this Ford F250 FX4 that stomped over this Viper. The guy was running crazy boost.
